Update on Dr. Rais-Dana

Committee for Human Rights and Academic Freedom of Middle East Economic Association is pleased to announce that on January 17, 2011, Dr. Fariborz Rais-Dana was released on bail from Evin prison in Tehran. Dr. Rais-Dana, a senior professor of economics, and a member of the Board of Directors of the Writers' Guild of Iran, was arrested on December 19, 2010, immediately after an interview with the BBC-Persian Radio, criticizing Iranian government's current economic policy.
